Starting from their local basecamp, the team set off to Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch. A long climb set the tone for the day, but the long awaited fun descent still was unrideable due to last year's fires.

Swiss talent joins TREK-Brentjens MTB Racing Team

Lukas Kaufmann (22) is going to race for the Trek-Brentjens MTB Racing Team in 2010. Together with teammates Jelmer Pietersma (Ned), Tim Wijnants (Bel) ,Frank Beemer (Ned) and Irjan Luttenberg (Ned) he will participate in national and international races.

Schaijk, 10 november 2009 ; During the very busy Bike Motion Benelux Trek and the Brentjens Mountainbike Racing Team prolonged their sponsorship together for 2010. Trek &  Brentjens go for 2010 !Trek & Brentjens go for 2010 !Trek will be in 2010 again the main sponsor of the succesfull team of living legend Bart Brentjens .The team will ride Trek TopFuel 9.9 SSL full suspension bikes, as also Trek Elite 9.9 SSL hardtails. For training on the road the team will use Trek Madones.

BRENTJENS 2ND GENERAL CLASSEMENT CROCODILE TROPHY

Cape Tribulation (AUS), 29 oktober 2009 ; Today was the last (neutral) stage of the Crocodile Trophy after 10 days of racing. Brentjens Crocodile TrophyBrentjens Crocodile TrophyDespite his victory in the stage of yesterday, it wasn't possible for Brentjens to win time on the leader Urs Huber. Brentjens became second in the General Classement of the Crocodile Trophy on 1.20 behind the winner Urs Huber from Switzerland. By winning 6 of the stages Brentjens became winner of the points classement.

Brentjens won the 151 kilometre stage in 5 hours and 19 seconds, by defeating Urs Huber and Mike Mulkens in the sprint. In the general standings Urs Huber leads, Brentjens is in second on just 1 minute and 1 second. Third is Mike Mulkens with over an hour setback. Three stages remain on this year's race.

Brentjens wins time on Huber

Mt Mulgrave, 25 oktober ; Bart Brentjens has attacked in the 6th stage, a stage from Chillagoe to Mt Mulgrave from 137 kilometer.

He took the lead and during the race he had over 2 minutes on leader Urs Huber. At the finish he still had 1 minute over leader of the classement Urs Huber. Bart Brentjens is now second on 1.06 from leader Urs Huber. Bart Brentjens has won 4 stages.
Tomorrow the 7th stage from Mt Mulgrave to Laura, a stage over 151 kilometer.

Brentjens wins second stage Crocodile Trophy

Brentjens Crocodile TrophyBrentjens Crocodile TrophyGranite George (AUS), 21st of Octobre 2009 - Adventure in todays stage - a tree blocked the course forcing the organisation to stop and clear the road as the bikers could continue, but the safety car could not. In the final 20 kilometres three riders managed to break loose from the pack. Urs Huber, Jurij Robic and Bart Brentjens raced all the way to the finish line.

Brentjens 2nd in first stage Crocodile Trophy

Cairns, 20 oktober 2009 ; Today was the first stage of the Crocodile Trophy, world's hardest, longest and most adventurous mountainbike stagerace. The stage was 97 kilometers from Cairns to Lake Tinaroo. Winner of today was the swiss Urs Huber. Brentjens came in 2nd with 1.45 behind.

Irjan Luttenberg joins TBT in 2010

Schaijk, 14 October ;Irjan Luttenberg (20) is joining the Trek-Brentjens MTB Racing Team for next year. Together with teammates Jelmer Pietersma (Ned), Tim Wijnants (Bel) and Frank Beemer (Ned) he will participate in national and international races.

World Cup Finals Schladming 2009

Jelmer Pietersma attackingJelmer Pietersma attackingSchladming, 19 september 2009 - Well prepared and in good mood - the Trek-Brentjens team was ready for the World Cup finals. A pleasant temperature, sunshine and above average spectators only added in the circumstances. Jelmer Pietersma rode a strong race, working his way up the field. Due to fatigue he fell short in the final part of the race, loosing a couple of places but still finishing in 39th position. Team mate Tim Wynants finished in 66th place, whilst Frank Beemer crashed on his knee once again and had to give up. Jose-Antonio Hermida won the mens, followed by Ruben Ruzafa Cueto and Matthias Flückiger. The women's race was won by Lisi Osl, Lene Byberg took second and Catherine Pendrel third. A great result for Dutch rider Anneke Beerten; she won the World Cup as well as the overall title!
