Mechanical problem spoils good result for Kaufmann in Swiss Trophy

A world class field at the start near Bern today and a world class race for spectators. Trek-Brentjens rider Lukas Kaufmann, getting stronger and stronger lately, was powering his way up the field. Half way through, Lukas was riding in the top 10 when bad luck struck - mechanical failure caused him to finish his race on his small chainring. Despite two dropped chains he still managed to finish in 17th. The race was won by Julien Absalon, followed by Nino Schurter and Christoph Sauser. In the women's race Irina Kalentieva took the win, before Sabine Spitz and Katrin Leumann.
