A pleasant temperature, sunshine and above average spectators only added in the circumstances. Jelmer Pietersma rode a strong race, working his way up the field. Due to fatigue he fell short in the final part of the race, loosing a couple of places but still finishing in 39th position. Team mate Tim Wynants finished in 66th place, whilst Frank Beemer crashed on his knee once again and had to give up. Jose-Antonio Hermida won the mens, followed by Ruben Ruzafa Cueto and Matthias Flückiger. The women's race was won by Lisi Osl, Lene Byberg took second and Catherine Pendrel third. A great result for Dutch rider Anneke Beerten; she won the World Cup as well as the overall title!
